Darn, I picked some up the other day and was hoping there'd be more reviews by now. It's probably enough to know that it's a manic panic derivative, I guess.

I actually talked to a rather honest Hot Topic employee who obviously partook of various dyes himself. He said the Color Fiend dyes were getting mediocre reviews from his friends, and he was sticking with his stash of SFX for now.

I think the main thing is to avoid the water-based dyes. The store I was in had them split into two sections, alcohol-based and water-based. They also have different caps. I think the water-based ones are basically just crappy super-temporary rinses, where the alcohol-based ones are more like what we usually use (e.g. SFX) and last a lot longer.

I got a couple of the alcohol-based ones (fuchsia and yellow) and I'll try them later, but I'm less than optimistic.

actually the water based one stayed in my hair soo much longer than the alcohol based one did(actually lasted only one wash while the water based one has lasted over three months.)
