Ooh you'll have to post back with details of the proposal *fingers crossed for you*.
I don't know why it freaks me out that so many of my friends are now engaged, being that I'm one of them, but it does. Mid-20s crisis here I come!

Ahh, my life -- kinda boring at the moment.

Working on my university degree on computer science, worked as a software developer and plan to work on that again. I can tell you, programming requires loads of thinking and staring at the screen (and loads of overtime too :/ ). And it's always good to see girls doing the programming.

I'm also in my mid-twenties, but haven't got any crisis in terms of engagement maybe because none of my friends or people I know are engaged and I and my boyfriend aren't thinking about such things yet. I wonder if it's a cultural thing or just a coincidence of the people I know. O_o

I love to do creative stuff, which is my second thought for a career if I decide I don't want to work as a developer.

Wanting to get a job right now, but probably won't get a job as a developer unless something really good comes up. It's hard having to study for your final project for uni (don't know what's the term for it in english) and program quite a lot and also have to program 10 hours a day for your work.

I will keep you updated with the answer when/if I get one and more importantly the colour of my hair I'm wit you on the freaking out part, I know quite a few people engaged. I think it's because being engaged appears to be a grown up thing and I'm in no way grown up. I'm like a bad peter pan

Battlesheep, what's your programming language of choice?

Yeah what is it with programmers and dyed hair?
I have to say I don't use anything I learned in my degree in day to day life. They never taught us anything worth using (I mean really who uses coldfusion and VB (not even .net)?) But I could complain about uni all day so I'll stop!

Well, that's probably because us programmers are so cool people!

Hope my next job is accepting of my "unnatural" hair colours. Heard ibm is really loose about such things, so maybe I'll give it a try.

Yeah we didn't learn many languages that we'd actually use here either. Really, who uses fortran and pascal? We did those for 2 semesters each and stuff we'd actually use, like c++ or java for one.

I like c++ because of the capabilities, but I'm not very good at it yet. Haven't used it in a few years and was using vb .net where I worked. And now instead of c++ the simple vb syntax always comes to mind first. Grr! Doing my... ermm ... final project(?) for uni in visual c++ and directx 9.0, it's interesting. Can't wait to try and add some 3d models.

Wow, that was a big post about programming, I'd better stop too!

Wait at what age can you get your license? we get a permit at 16, then jr license at 17, and then full license at 18. But if you take drivers ed you can get your jr license at 16 1/2 and full license at 17.

Hooray for cool jobs and professions that attract COOL & INTERESTING people. As far as writing stuff that is 'interesting', most people here may know I do customer service/accounting in a theatrical supply house (back of stage stuff...no makeup or costumes). The nice thing about that is they're very laid back (I've worked there on and off for years) about appearance, and as a result, I can pretty much look how I please within reason. We're a fairly large retailer in the scheme of tech theatre, so if anyone is doing a show, looking for equipment, etc. (*plug, plug, plug*), PM me and I'll let you the web site!

I find that having a fairly stress free job allows me to focus my attention on the stuff I like - animals (I have a zoo - 4 cats, 2 dogs - & wish I could have more, but time/money/sanity don't permit me to), music, and fitness.

I also have a degree in psychology and have thought long & hard (and still not made a decision) about going to school to be a mental health counselor. Analyze THAT!

Oh, I also had to comment on the licensing thing. Okay, I am OLD...but we could get our driver's license here in Wisconsin at 16. I didn't get mine until 17 because my parents DID NOT want me driving. I have had 2 accidents in 18 years of driving and both were at the age of 17 (second technically 18 by a couple of weeks). Knock on wood.
