First choose which color you want to cover the most hair. This color you will apply around the spikes during the dye process. For simplicity, I will call this the "base" color.
Get a hold of some hair, twist it a bit and bobby pin it in place. The hair will look somewhat like a spike - apply your second color to these.
Apply the base first. This will give you a clearer idea of where you will apply your second color.
After you are done with the base, take the bobby-pins off the spikes and thoroughly cover all of the spikes (inside and out) with your second color.
Follow your usual dying strategy. I left the dye on for about 3 hours and heated it every 15-20 minutes. Given that there is more than one color being used here, I wouldn't recommend sleeping with this in.
